I'm not ashamed to admit that when dinner time approaches, I lean on frozen meals to feed my family. Over 20 years, I've tried all kinds, including frozen dumplings, vegetables, french fries and pizza. Recently, I tasted Homebake 425°/:30 Frozen Pulled Pork with BBQ Sauce — the first time I've ever tried frozen pulled pork. I didn't think it would knock my mittens off, but it did. My whole family loved it so much that I now keep it in my freezer.

All Homebake brand frozen meals have instructions on the title. Preheat the oven to 425°F and bake for 30 minutes. This is enough pulled pork to make a meal for my family of five when I serve it as part of a meal. (I have tons of ideas below!) Pulled pork sits in a sweet BBQ sauce with a little heat.

This product has a suggested retail price of $12.99, which is a steal, but I found it at Kroger for $9.97. I then stock up on a few packs and keep them in my freezer when needed.

Home Bake 425°/:30 Pulled Pork with BBQ Sauce Serving Ideas

Heat up a tray of pulled pork, and you can take dinner in many directions. Here are some ideas:

The sandwich: The easiest and tastiest way to enjoy pulled pork. Toast the cut sides of your buns (hamburger, brioche or potato buns) so they don't get soggy. Top with something sharp and complex like pickles, pickled red onions, or pickled slaw, which will help balance out the sweet sauce. Serve it on the side or in a sandwich with a big pile of potato chips.

Serve with sides.: Obvious ones like cornbread, classic coleslaw, mac and cheese, and a pile of pickles. Any of the following would be delicious: cilantro lime rice, yuca fries, a refreshing cucumber salad, garlic bread, or macaroni salad.

“chili”: It's not chili, but you can imagine serving it in a bowl and tossing it with chopped onion, fresh red pepper, diced radish, crumbled queso fresco, diced avocado, or whatever else you like. You can imagine serving it with your favorite chili.

Tacos: Heat corn tortillas and toss with pulled pork, shredded cabbage, pickled red onion, fresh or pickled jalapeños, and fresh cilantro.

Quesadillas: Lay the flour tortilla on a greased pan over medium-high heat. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top, like a Mexican-style blend. Spread a few dollops of pulled pork, followed by more cheese and another tortilla. Cook both sides of the quesadilla until golden brown and the cheese is completely melted.

Grilled cheese: Take a basic grilled cheese to the next level by adding pulled pork.

Pizza: Spread pulled pork on pizza crust and top with sliced ​​jalapeños, red onion, pickles (trust me on this one!) and shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese. Bake until golden brown all over and cheese is melted.

Burritos: Put pulled pork, rice, beans, and whatever else you usually like in your burrito on a large flour tortilla. After folding the burrito, I always toast all sides in a skillet to give the tortillas some crunch and more flavor.

Nachos: Sprinkle pulled pork over your nachos. This is an easy way to add both protein and flavor.
