Roasted Cauliflower Steaks Recipe – Spend money


Cauliflower steaks are one of the tastiest (often underrated) ways to enjoy this vegetable!

This cauliflower steak recipe produces tender rounds of cauliflower with caramelized edges that pair well with any main dish!

  • Cauliflower steaks are perfect as a side dish, for Meatless Mondays, or for a quick breakfast.
  • Low in calories and high in fiber, pair cauliflower with your favorite flavorful herbs and spices.
  • Double the recipe and reheat in the air fryer for a week's supply of delicious cauliflower steaks.
  • A great alternative to fried cabbage, the oven does all the work. Just prepare and bake.!

Ingredients for Cauliflower Steaks

Cabbage – I love green cabbage for this recipe, but red cabbage is great too. Choose a cabbage that is heavy for its size.

The oil Olive oil is what I use because it's always on hand. Swap it for bacon grease for a smoky flavor (and sprinkle it with crumbled bacon if you have it).

Spices – Spices are simple but feel free to sprinkle with onion powder or garlic powder.

Variations

Experiment with different seasonings or toppings to create your own cauliflower steak recipe.

  • Sprinkle steaks with parmesan cheese or feta cheese.
  • For a crispy touch, sprinkle some breadcrumbs on the cauliflower steaks after flipping them.

To cut cabbage into steaks, start with a fresh head of cabbage and remove the outer leaves.

Place the cauliflower on a cutting board and cut across the cauliflower into ½-inch steaks. Thicker steaks take longer to cook, while thinner steaks can burn.

How to Cook Cauliflower Steaks

Roasting vegetables creates layers of flavor because they are cooked at high temperatures, and using minimal fat brings out the natural sweetness on the outside.
