Stuffed Cabbage Rolls Recipe

Cabbage rolls are an Eastern European and American favorite, in which cabbage leaves are wrapped around savory rice and beef and bathed in tomato sauce. They're pure comfort food, but between boiling or steaming the cabbage, cooking the rice and beef, and wrapping each roll before baking, they're a labor of love.

If you're craving the flavors of those classic cabbage rolls but have the time and don't need a super polished presentation, this is the recipe for you. These no-stuffed cabbage rolls use all the same ingredients but are prepared in a fraction of the time. Microwavable rice cuts cooking time even further and keeps the dish a one-pot dinner—no need to boil a pot of rice.

For a one-pot, one-dish meal that's sure to satisfy, make stuffed cabbage rolls and cross dinner off your to-do list.

Variations of simple composition.

  • Swap the green cabbage for savoy cabbage. Avoid red cabbage as it takes too long to cook and will give the dish a strange color.
  • Replace ground beef with pork sausage for extra flavor.
  • Use your favorite tomato sauce. Garlic sauce will add extra garlic flavor, and spicy sauce will add a kick.
